Biography
Anand Swaminathan is a core faculty member and medical education fellowship director at the Staten Island University Hospital Emergency Medicine Department. He is an associate professor of emergency medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra. His main interests are in resident education, faculty development, presentation design, resuscitation, and knowledge translation. Anand is the managing editor and host for EM:RAP; a podcast with over 30,000 subscribers. He is a big believer in and contributor to the free open access medical education (FOAM) movement and is an associate editor for REBEL EM and REBELCast and a regular contributor to the EM Cases Quick Hits podcast.
When not working, Anand enjoys long distance running with his pitbull-lab rescue (Winston 4) and driving his kids (Roux, 17; Maya, 14; and Luke, 10) to sports and music practices.
