Introduction
Guided by The PLN Frameworks (The Five Reading, Writing, Talking Processes and The Four Lenses of Learning) participants explore the impact of providing good literature in the classroom as a springboard for the development of improved reading and writing skills.
Discussions and demonstrations focus on the study of author’s craft, close reading, book art, writing styles and the importance of providing self-selection in the classroom. Practical suggestions for active engagement, critical thinking, and independent and group activities using literature, oral and written composing across the curriculum are also examined during this course.
