Biography

Karin Swartz teaches in and supports students in the Global Higher Education Management program. She is the former assistant dean of the Center for Community Engagement at York College of Pennsylvania. In her career, she has worked across many campus divisions in student affairs, fundraising, communications, community engagement, and innovation programs.

Dr. Swartz completed her undergraduate degree at Ursinus College and maintains her passion for the liberal arts as a result of her time there. She went on to complete her masters in Higher Education at the University of Pennsylvania and her doctorate as part of Penn GSE’s Executive Doctorate in Higher Education Management program. Her current work focuses on using design thinking to guide innovation and leveraging high-impact community-based practices to strengthen the educational experience.
